Di Nenna is the first director internationally to break the barrier of diversity in cinema by bringing his films to theatres. In 2001 he made his first film "Big Boys" with differently-abled protagonists. He continued with "La seconda Vita" featuring Giancarlo Giannini, and in 2013 "Le Meraviglie dell'Amore" with Massimo Ghini. In 2015 he wrote a comedy where, for the first time in Italy, differently-abled actors perform comic roles: "Un viaggio serio... ma non troppo". In 2016 came "Tutto può accadere nel villaggio dei miracoli", premiered at the 62nd Taormina Film Fest in the presence of President Sergio Mattarella. In 2023 he became director of two cinema academies: the Irpinia Film Academy and the Benevento Film Academy.
