The tenth edition of the Picentia Short Film Festival comes to an end with dizzying numbers and overwhelming enthusiasm, unanimously hailed as the finest edition ever. From September 21 to 27, the event took center stage between Battipaglia and the scenic backdrop of Vietri sul Mare, solidifying its role as a genuine crossroads for short and independent cinema under the theme "Echoes."

The numbers from this milestone tenth edition reflect unprecedented growth: over 100,000 viewers tuned in each evening via live stream, joined by thousands of attendees who packed the squares and screening venues throughout the entire week.

Lending prestige to the event was a lineup of more than 20 renowned talents and guests from the worlds of cinema, television, and culture. Among the most anticipated highlights were the explosive energy of Mattia Zenzola—a true showstopper on stage, honored with the Spiga d’Argento—the refinement and charisma of Nathaly Caldonazzo, the impeccable godmother of the decennial edition, and the extraordinary presence of Fortunato Cerlino, recipient of the prestigious Picentia Award, who held the square spellbound in a moment of profound artistic and emotional power, engaging in an open dialogue with the audience.

Alongside them, many beloved figures from television and the silver screen—including Salvatore Misticone, Carlo Caracciolo, Rita Rusciano, Gianluca Spagnoli, and Francesco Nicodemo—made every evening an unrepeatable occasion.

The beating heart and standout novelty of this year’s edition was the International Youth Jury: 25 young men and women from across Italy and six European countries took center stage, debating cinematic languages and fully embodying the festival’s European vision and cultural openness.

Capping off a memorable week was the resounding success of the parallel literary and cultural showcase, Picentia Books. Passionately and insightfully curated by Donato D’Aiuto and Vincenzo Cennamo, it drew extraordinary attendance and fostered a rich dialogue between literature, local heritage, and the audiovisual arts.

"We have no doubt: this was the greatest edition of the Picentia Short Film Festival to date," declared artistic director Luca Capacchione. "Celebrating ten years with over one hundred thousand viewers streaming every night and a square brimming with passion is the crowning achievement of an extraordinary journey. We welcomed more than 20 talents on stage, had the honor of listening to an acting titan like Fortunato Cerlino, experienced the magnetic grace of Nathaly Caldonazzo, and felt the unstoppable energy of Mattia Zenzola. Yet the most striking image of this tenth edition is the 25 young members of the International Jury from across Italy and six European nations: seeing youth from diverse cultures gather here to judge cinema and build lasting bonds proves that our festival is a shared home without borders.
